Coloured

This made me smile today :)

One of Elliot Erwitt's friends - who grew up in the South as a black person - reacts to this famous photo:

"We, as kids, were always disappointed when we went up to the fountain, expecting the water to be rainbow-hued, iridescent.. .you know, coloured... only to find that it was just plain old boring water as usual!"

And Pride & Prejudice (the movie) and Hannah Arendt made me shiver and gasp and feel slightly sick, but for decidedly different reasons.
