I remember Yumei describing what my brother says as good comic-strip fodder. Quite true, actually:
And then yesterday, when we were going through my India team receipts, we came across one we got from buying headbands for the kids (to prettify them for the carnival performance) -
Me: "Paul watches entirely too much Boston Legal."
Mingkun: "It's damn sickening how society worships certain professions. So there's also E.R. and the West Wing but got 'Boston Plumber'anot, HUH?"
Me: "..."
Mingkun: "And then they assign you stupid useless days to make you feel better about your crap, lousy-paying job, like Teachers' Day and Nurses' Day... but got Bankers' Day anot, HUH?"
Me: "..."

guess some worthless jobs are still worth more than others...

or rather, some worthless jobs are more worthless than others. we should agitate for a Plumbers' Day!
there are many more teachers (who vote) than bankers.
